When it comes to the local library, not all libraries are created equal. Case in point, the Yorba Linda Public Library offers more than just books, magazines and movies for your entertainment or educational needs. They also allow cardholders to check out musical instruments, like guitars, ukuleles, djembe drums, keyboards, and even banjos for six weeks at a time.
In addition to hundreds of music CDs, you can even check out vinyl LPs for your musical enjoyment. Don’t have a record player at home? Not a problem. They’ll let you check out one of those too!
We haven’t even mentioned their amazing calendar of events. Every month the Yorba Linda Public Library hosts a variety of great opportunities to learn more about film, literature, culture and the arts.
Parents, if you’re looking for a great way to introduce your kids to new books you’ll love the all-ages Family Story Time at 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays. If you have younger children, try the Bounce & Giggles Story Time (on Tuesdays) where parents can share bounces, rhymes, simple stories, and songs to encourage early literacy development in your little ones. If weekdays don’t work for your schedule, try the all ages Pajama-Rama at 7:00pm on Tuesdays. Kiddos can wear their jammies, bring a stuffed animal and favorite blanket for an evening of stories and songs.
Even more, the Yorba Linda Public Library offers book clubs for older adults [50 yrs and up], teens and younger kids, too. So, there’s always a great opportunity to make new friends who love books as much as you do.
But, I know you’re wondering: “Do they have any arts and crafts classes available?” And the answer is “Yes!” In fact, your teens can participate in “Crafts for a Cause” where students create beautiful, hand-made cards for residents at a local Senior Home Care facility and receive school community service credits at the same time. It’s a win-win.
Plus, they offer after school programs where students can learn valuable S.T.E.A.M. skills using interactive stories and hands-on activities.
Let’s say you want to develop your understanding of how technologies can modernize your business. There’s a class for that, too.
The fact is, there’s so much to see and do at the Yorba Linda Public Library, you really have to experience it first-hand.
Drop by during normal operating hours, Monday through Saturday and see for yourself how great our library really is. You’ll be glad you did.
