“Evening with Friends” was just that indeed, as the Friends Christian School gala, held on Sunday, April 14th at the Richard Nixon Library and Museum, brought our FCS family together in celebration of our wonderful community and to support the future success of our programs.
We are so grateful to those who were able to join us for the celebration, and to everyone who has supported us throughout the year. Friends Christian School couldn’t reach as many students and families as we do without all of those who showed up on Sunday to support our mission, and together we raised an impressive $85,000! But beyond the fundraising, it was a very special evening to gather and show our gratitude to many of the people who make Friends Christian School so special.
The evening began with passed hors d’oeuvres, photo booth, a Containers of Hope shoe fundraiser, silent auction viewing and went on through to a beautifully decorated ballroom where we enjoyed a delicious buffet. The room was filled with FCS board members, parents, teachers, grandparents, alumni and many others who contribute to the uniqueness of our school on a daily basis!
Led by our Auctioneer, Jim Nye, our program kicked off with a fun game of “Heads or Tails” with the winner receiving a two-night stay at South Coast Winery in Temecula! We had a large number of excited participants and the friendly competition ran high.
After the game, our Fund-A-Need for the night was introduced. In just a short amount of time, more than $39,000 was raised for additional resources, enhancements and technology needs for all four Friends Christian School campuses!
The Killer Dueling Pianos concluded the evening with an interactive set of sing-a-longs (some included hits from Neil Diamond, Queen, and others) making the evening an unforgettable one for all.
For those unable to attend the event, please enjoy this special video produced by our Lions News Team (from Friends Christian Middle School) highlighting a few of the unique programs at Friends!
There is much to be excited about around FCS and we truly feel the Lions pride across all four campuses and beyond. Thank you to our sponsors, our guests, and all the volunteers who worked so hard. You have been a blessing to all of us at Friends Christian School.
