MY JOY
My heart smiles when I see students on campus being kind to one another, when they include others in their activities or help a friend who is hurting. My eyes sweat a little bit because I know God is working in the lives of our students. When they point each other to Jesus I know we’re doing something right and I am delighted to be a part of it.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT FRIENDS
I love our family culture on campus. We have the best families and I’ve been able to connect with some pretty special students. I love when students seek me out for a hug.
FAVORITE SPOT ON CAMPUS
Mrs. Swift always says, “Chapel is the BEST place to be on a Wednesday morning!” I have to agree and my favorite spot is seated in the back of the sanctuary where I can see all the students and we can worship, learn and grow in our faith together.
FAVORITE FRIENDS TRADITION
Veteran’s Day Chapel is really special. Each year we honor our family members who have served in the U.S. military and invite them to join us. Seeing pictures and hearing stories of courage, bravery and sacrifice for our country is my favorite FCS tradition.
BEST TEACHING MOMENT
I haven’t been in the classroom in over 20 years, but after teaching junior high Spanish for 3 years, I learned that one of my former students became a Spanish teacher.
FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE (OR LIFE VERSE)
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.”
BEST MEMORY AT FRIENDS
My daughter, Layla, sang in Praise Band. It was a true pleasure to watch her help lead worship and use her gifts to serve.
